Abelara Leadership Team Meet the People.
Behind Abelara.

You'll work with people who have sat in your seat.

Our leaders have run a manufacturing company, owned industrial systems across an enterprise and integrated plants from pharmaceuticals to automotive. We talk in downtime, margin and throughput, not software features.

Our Leadership

Practitioners first, with an average of more than 20 years of industry experience across our leadership team. Every leader here has run, fixed or built systems on a real plant floor. We've been the people on the front lines who use those systems and the people who pay for them, and we've answered to both.

Dylan DuFresne

Dylan DuFresne

Chief Executive Officer

Co-founder · Author, The Phantom Pallet

Dylan has spent his career as a systems integrator in plants across agriculture, pharmaceuticals, automotive and food production, where he earned the nickname “The Janitor” for cleaning up projects others left behind. What he learned: transformation rarely fails on technology. It fails on trust, when operators don't believe the numbers and leaders don't believe the operators.

He co-founded Abelara to fix that, and wrote The Phantom Pallet, a manufacturing fable about data, trust and transformation, for the people running the lines and the people running the business.

Glenn Gardner

Glenn Gardner

President

Co-founder · Mechanical engineer, MBA

Glenn has spent his career in industry, including a long run as president of an industrial laser manufacturer owned by a publicly traded technology company. He has worked in every major manufacturing department and reads a plant the way an executive does: by what it does to the P&L.

He holds a master's degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA. As co-founder, he builds right-sized roadmaps that tie predictive maintenance, CMMS, SCADA and MES together, and uses AI only where there's a real business case for it.

Andrew Makl

Andrew Makl

Senior Vice President of Sales

Enterprise software · Business-case led

Andrew has spent his career in manufacturing and sales leadership, most recently as SVP of Sales and Marketing for a global ERP consultancy and VAR serving manufacturers and distributors across ERP, WMS, QMS, MES, CMMS, and related technologies. He helps leadership teams see what a system will change in their business before they commit to it.

At Abelara, he keeps every engagement anchored to the business case: what the problem costs today, what fixing it returns, and what your team will own when we're done.

Daniel Clark

Daniel Clark

Director of Engineering

ERP to SCADA · Talent pipelines

Daniel has spent more than 20 years working hands-on across the manufacturing systems stack, from ERP and formulation through WMS, MES and quality down to SCADA on the plant floor. Most of that time was inside a Fortune 500 paint and coatings manufacturer, where he took plant-floor systems from single-site projects to an enterprise-wide platform.

Along the way he learned that systems only scale as far as the people behind them, so he built the talent pipeline too: developing plant engineers and technicians who could own, support and extend the platform. He brings the same approach to Abelara, where he leads engineering and makes sure the capability stays with your team after we leave.

The more you see, the more you can improve. We built Abelara so the people running the plant can see it too.

Read The Phantom Pallet

If you’d rather see how we think first, start with the book. The Phantom Pallet follows Dave, buried in conflicting spreadsheets and systems that won’t talk to each other, as he learns that the technology is rarely the hard part.
